First fitting with Ms. V! (as posted in W@W)
anyway, kwento ko lang po my experience with my fitting(s) with veluz.:) sobrang happy ako. i wanted to post nga nung nasa pinas ako kaso lang nadelete ko accidentally yung blog entry ko. (sigh katangahan)
eto na po...
monday - i went to veluz to have my measurements re-taken... why re-taken? coz i am absolutely positive that they took my measurements when i made my downpayment last october! but it's okay. at least they'll base the fitting on my recent measurements (hindi halata kung tumaba ako)... hehehe... monday morning, nikko texted me reminding me of my measurement-taking (as if naman makakalimutan ko no! hehehe) he's really nice pala. kasi first time i met him akala ko suplada and mataray. he didnt talk much kasi. i was wrong pala. :) well, mataray pa din cya pero in a nice way naman... so yun. i went to veluz in the afternoon, siguro mga 10 mins lang ako dun. hahaha. tapos uwi na. sabi kasi ni veluz we can just talk about the design changes (flashback: i didnt want an offshoulder gown. senior ball and debut gowns ko offshoulder na so i wanted it to be different sana...) but veluz said that we'll just see in the fitting and check kung ano bagay.
wednesday- naku eto na po! my first fitting... hehe. sobrang excited. ewan ko ba... hehehe. i went there with a lot of anxieties... first of course as i have mentioned my gown design, second, nahihiya ako kasi dami ko acne scars on my back..(hay tagal ko na problem to). but all my stressing were wasted kasi everything turned out okay. :) first...rgarding the bacne, di naman sila nagreact ng panget. they just seemed to take it all in stride. which is quite a relief for me... then on the design naman... eto nangyari... i fitted my kacha tube gown first. when veluz was really satisfied on the fit of the tube gown, she asked nikko to get an offshoulder top... eto na.. when veluz put on the top,wala pa sigurong 10 seconds tinanggal na nya agad. sabi nya lang mas bagay ata sayo sarado. so she asked nikko to get a top na parang shrug (but they call it a harness) then she tried it on. grabe!!! i loooooveeed it! sobrang love ko tlaga. sabi k nga kay veluz "naku pwede na po ito. eto na lagn gown ko" tapos she just laughed and said"sige libre na yan" hehehe... tapos sobrang tuwa ko talga sa gown ko as in kinikilig pa ako. haha tawa nga ng tawa si veluz e. :)
im really sooo happy! we also discussed the fabric. i was supposed to get italian satin but when i saw the swatch, parang di ko masyado nagustuhan (no offense po...) ayaw ko kasi ng makintab na gown... so veluz made "tapat" italian satin, pina cocoon and pina silk then she asked me what i wanted. of cors ako, i asked her opinion, she said pina cocoon and i was so happy she did kasi yun ang gusto ko!
i went back friday now with my mom in tow. i had to force my mom to come with me pa! buti na lang i did. kasi veluz then explained my gown design in detail which is a good thing coz i wouldnt have asked...hehe ganun ko cya ka-trust. hehehe. and the best thing is, my mom actually told me maganda yung gown! yey! knowing my mom, that's a really really good sign!!!
happy preps!!!"
that's the message i posted in waw. grabe super haba... :) since i've shown lui the pics of my gown, i'll post it here na. :D (pictures c/o nikko)

with Veluz herself. :)

short description: the top will be full machine-embroidered. as well as the bodice of the gown. :) there will also be some embroidery on the train. train will be pinned up during reception. :D fabric will be pina cocoon with shantung lining. :)

Wedding Updates
I don't know if I'm just being paranoid, but it seems like I have been doing absolutely nothing for our wedding. Have we really covered everything we need to cover? I doubt it... When I think of all the things that we still need to do, I start getting nervous. But what else can I do?? My very busy coordinator is still busy, as she still doesn't reply to my emails...
Therefore, instead of just doing nothing, I have decided to go to the bridal fair on Saturday. Yes, me... I am going to a bridal fair - a thing that i thought i will never do since I have a coordinator and since I am an overseas bride. But I guess it won't hurt to see what else is out there. To mingle around and to see if I made the right decisions. Who knows? Maybe there will be some good finds too! ;p
I'm going home (phils) on Friday and there is not one schedule alloted for wedding preps (except for the fair). Is this normal??? After this vacation, God knows when I'll be able to go home! Breathe candy breathe.
Sigh... hopefully someday soon, there will be some updates that I can post here.
and P.S no im not becoming a bridezilla. I'm just disappointed. a bit.

Quality in everything we do. :)
I guess my three years with OCS (office of career services) in DLSU finally paid off. All the things I learned during our training days kicked in. :) Everything they told us to do to make a good first impression, I did... For the first time since I came to singapore, I wore a full corporate attire. Yes - blazer, blouse, SKIRT, panty hose and killer shoes. :) I was going to make a good - no GREAT - first impression and darn it if i don't!
Funny thing about this day is that I actually started working! My seat wasn't hot yet when someone came to ask me to do something already! bwahahaha. :) how lucky of me. but it's okay. at least it gave me a chance to get an idea how they do things this early on.
Everybody seemed nice, but I guess, generally that's how you see people on your first day. :) It takes a little bit more time for their sungays to come out. We'll see.. but i guess, wala nang tatalo dun sa kabila. :D
I really hope I do better in this firm. I am really going to try... The fact that I'm willing to try is a good sign already! coz previously, I didnt have the motivation or the will to try and excel. hehe let's see in the next six months.

Til we meet again... :D
Honestly, it was a different feeling... Last year, when I was leaving PwC, it almost broke my heart when I said my farewell to my officemates in our little area... I wanted to cry. I couldnt look the people in their eyes because I knew I was near tears already. Walking away from the office was hard.
But now, I'm actually okay... But i did feel sad saying my farewell to my friends. There are some people that I will truly miss, but since I'll be moving a few blocks away, I can see them almost everyday!
Anyway, just wanted to share my farewell adress:
Hello everybody,
Since this is my last day here in Deloitte, I would like to thank everybody for making my stay here in DT such a memorable one. My only regret is that I didn’t get the chance to meet each and every one of you.
Please do keep in touch. You can email me at candychu_logbi@yahoo.com or candy.y.chu@gmail.com.
Again, thank you very much. Will surely miss everybody!
Since I'll still be around, I wont say goodbye but til we meet again. :D
Salamat! (Thank You!)
Regards,
Candy --> signing off

One YEARS
today and tomorrow are quite significant dates for me... they both signify one-year celebrations :)
Today - January 27, 2008 -er 2007 (see... i even mistyped the year!) hahaha... today i hit my one-year mark. one year from now, at around the same time, i will be travelling from my hotel room (either diamond, manila pen or makati shang) on my way to Shrine of Jesus, preparing to walk down the aisle. one year from now, i will be getting married! yahoo! we've pretty much covered all major suppliers. but we still have to settle a lot of minor details. but with one year to go, i think we'll be able to cover all bases without sweating much. hehe
Tomorrow - January 28, 2007 - happy anniversary!!! - to me. :) i'll be celebrating my one year anniversary here in Singapore. yes, one year na ako dito. grabe. everything seemed to fly by so fast... i wasnt really expecting for my one year to come sooo soon. one year has passed. how many more will there be? hopefully i'll still be here by 2008. :)
one years- i guess time do come and go quickly... i just hope that my next one years are better and happier.

My first photo "stint" - Rommel and Faye
I just wanted to try my hand on taking pictures at huge parties, and to learn how to properly set my WB! (if you'll notice the color of the pics are different, that's because I keep changing the WB setting every time! dont know how to set it properly! argh...)
Sis faye, hope you like the pics. Di naman professional, so bka pwede na din pagtyagaan. hehehe
Need to practice!!! For more photos, click here.
Here are some of the pics I took during Rommel and Faye's (fellow wawie) ROM celebration. (ie. civil wedding reception) hehe.

Another successful WAWsg EB! :)
Everything was the same, the atmosphere, the nonstop gabfest, the bonding, the friendships formed... The only thing we did differently this time around is that, we remembered to have dinner! hahaha :) It was really terrific. It was like a high school reunion, where you meet long lost friends and try to catch up as much as you can.
Everybody had a blast (well, I'm assuming they did. hehe coz i surely did)! No one felt out of place. People were talking left and right. There were food that remained untouched because of the non-stop chikahan. hehehe. It was FUN! FUN! FUN!
It was also very nice that this time around, there were nawies present. they shared some of their experiences as well as their 'supplier ratings'. it was really cool that they shared their tips and feedbacks.
We did miss the original WAWsg cast (jenluy, resie, lyn, joy) and also some of the wawsg members that were not able to join us. Hopefully next time, there will be more of us there. :)
It was really a fun experience. I can't wait for the next one! hehehe...

bad day... good thing there are friends :)
it started alright with me going to my future ey office. it was fine actually. i just got my medical form and pelo toured me around. (i love my new office! it's fabulous!)
anyway, after that i went to fitness first to inquire about their rates. a bit sad about their rates though. my budget was only 60-80 sgd. basta lower than 100sgd. (i only pay 3sgd currently for my gym!) but as it turned out, it will cost me a friggin' 133 bucks per month plus gst! arggghhh! so i guess there goes my fitness first dream. sigh.
after that, went to the m1 roadshow in my current office. found out that i can still avail of the corporate plan eventhough im leaving already! (save some $$$!) and i got my new samsung! i've been longing for this fone for a long time and finally got it. paid only 7k. with the money ill be able to get when i sell my N73, i would i say i would about break even. or profit some. hehe
this is the part where every thing goes haywire... i went for a 2pm meeting with a client to discuss our findings. this client was tough. they were throwing out harsh words and they didnt want to agree to any of our findings!!! talk about stubborn. just because they will get it hard from corporate if and when they have issues. sigh. where's governance there?? huh??? my senior manager was already raising his voice. as in they were 'arguing' it was really scary. anyway, my finding came up for discussion soon. turns out, i did something wrong. arrghhh! i wanted to cry... so i had to rush to the office and redo some of the work. sigh... good thing the finding still remains valid. only the appendix got mixed up. (darn that VLOOKUP!)
i havent finished doing work for that client yet, and here comes another client meeting. now with another manager. how do i describe that meeting??? it was absolutely terrible!!! she said things that was demoralizing and was not necessary... good thing i only had a few findings (and my findings were at the end of the 20+ paged report) so i was hit the least... but my teammates, well, they crashed and burned! wah!!! that manager is really something!! i could have sworn she's a spawn of the demon himself! never again. im soo glad i dont have to work with her EVER AGAIN.
then another client. (my supposedly only client at the moment) my manager kept questioning the parameters i gave the client to extract the journal entries from sap... so eventually he asked me to ask the financial auditors. which i did... i asked the same question my manager asked me. and you know what that stupid financial auditor answered "is this a trick question or is there something i am missing here" talk about rude!!!! heller?!!! i dont even know the guy. we had only exchanged a couple of emails and he answers me with that! F*ck you man!!! stupid stupid! but im still a professional auditor so i ignored his comment and answered briefly. grr... eventually he gave me the answer i wanted to hear. argh!
so anyway, after this hellish day, im so glad that i was able to cap it off with a dinner with some of the closest friends from office. they even gave us a short video as a going away present. i am so deeply touched. i kinda remember last year's going away present from ian and the gang (the one where they asked the security guard to "apprehend" me and take me to jail) no i wasnt taken to jail but that was what the security head told me they would do! ian tlaga!!!
hahaha. it's always great to realize that even if i have the worst day, i still have friends i can count on and that i can still laugh and carry on with my life.
sigh. i guess that's part of my life as an auditor.

Wedding Updates (as posted in WaW)
But we did manage to get a few things done:
1. We finally signed the contract with SOJ... grabe. ang strict pala tlaga nila. as in ang daming requirements. but the lady told me that tube gown is already allowed as long as decent looking naman... but i guess its not really a problem for me since my gown wont be a tube. hehe
2. We finally finally finally saw Esplanade - sa dami ng sakit ng ulo na inabot ko dito sa venue na to, im EXTREMELY happy that the place turned out great! as in suuuuperrr ganda. nung una, i thought sobrang laki nung place. ayun pla, kalahati lang dun sa amin. hahaha. pero fair enough. maganda tlaga cya. i have some pictures. but ihavent uploaded yet (hi sis kaye!! sobrang coincidence nagkita tayo dun! hehe) check out some pics of 1E here. (taken by yours truly)
3. Clarice and Lui met - before kasi it was only me who was always bugging clarice and asking her to do some things for us... and since free si clarice on the 27th, we decided to finally meet as a group and brainstorm. back from scratch kami. as in we went over every detail for the wedding which is really nice of clarice. considering na sobrang swamped cya with work et al.
4. Namanhikan na sila Lui - it was very simple yet very intimate and touching tlaga. they brought fruits, chocolates, and lui gave me this HUGE bouquet of carnations (my favorite!) i counted 40 stems! :) plus three tulips. hehe... sobrang kabado kami ni lui. pero as it turned out, mom ko and his parents lang nagusap. natatwa na lang kami sa tabi. hihi.. then we went for dinner with the Chao clan... (all of Lui's relatives in the father side) grabe nakakkaba... syempre interview interview. but good thing is that my dad and his uncles grew up together. so medyo marami naman kaming napagusapan. hehehe
okay that's all for now. :) oh!!! we also decided to get Minstrels (strings) na din. we were choosing between band and strings kasi and after seeing the venue, i thought strings would be a better choice :)
oki.. sorry napahaba na ata... :) yun lang! happy preps everyone!

Happy New Year! :)
my top 5 unforgettable events for 2006 are:
1. i finally moved to singapore - it was my first time to be away from my family and i am very proud that i am surviving... it was hard at first and is still hard, but im getting used to it. i am now domesticated. i know how to cook, iron my clothes and wash clothes. now i know i'll be a good housewife. hihi
2. i joined deloitte - not everything had been bad, there were good times as well. i got to travel to malaysia, indonesia and thailand; i made new good friends; i had grown more as an auditor. so it was not all bad... but it was not excellent either. ;)
3. i got engaged - what can i say? that made my year!
4. i reached my goal! (financially) - yes. i hit my target (peso) around september or october and so darn happy about it! :)
5. i lost a friend - i will miss you judy. you will always be remembered.
my 2007 has started quite good as well... i have been promoted to con2 (which was something i never really expected but quite happy about. who wouldn't be???) and i am transferring to a new firm. yes. i am moving to another firm yet again. . ;)
hopefully 2007 will be as good if not better than 2006... but what can i say? i cant wait for 2008! (in other words, cant wait to get married! hehe)

goodbye... :(
for two days or so, being true to my optimistic self, i thought that everything will be better. i convinced myself that nothing will go wrong... that judy will be able to get over this. that she'll wake from her coma and we'll still see her cheerful and welcoming smile. but i was wrong... Judy was declared dead at 10pm on Dec 8. I was shocked. i was so devastated...
Judy and I went to the same university. We belonged to the same block... Block2. We were together in some of the classes and we really clicked. though she and i belonged to different circles of friends, i can honestly say that she was a good friend of mine.
I remember i used to copy her notes and her homework and even her testpapers. She's too nice not to let me. She's like that, she doesnt have a mean bone on her... She was smart, funny, cheerful, very friendly and fun to be with... And she was my best customer. i think she had bought at least 3 cellphones from me. I will fondly remember that.
but now, now judy is gone. i will never be able to see her ever again. i wasnt even able to visit her during her last moments, i wasnt there to reach out a comforting hand when she found out... i wasnt even able to help out because i was too busy. :(
judy, though we might not be that close, please know that i have always considered you as my friend. you are truly a wonderful person. and you will surely be missed... :( we love you judy. thank you for sharing your wonderful life with us. thank you for being a part of our lives. you will always be remembered...
goodbye judai... :'(
my 20 sumthing bday. :)
anyway, my day started quite late. around 10am. i can hardly sleep that night because of a bad news i got from my close friend, marge. i was intending to sleep in but aimee woke me up to tell me i had a visitor.
still disoriented and straight out of bed, i went out to greet philip. i knew it was philip because i can hear helena (his beautiful guitar) but i was surprised to see that pelo, glenda and koya were there!!! i was really dumb-founded! my hair was still sticking out and all over the place and i was still in my pjs for heaven's sake!!! :) hahaha!!!
i remembered last year's bday when alvin and penny and my kiddies surprised me with a bday cake. i was surprised then, but this, this is a totally new level!!! koya??? 10 am??? hahaha... that was really something!
it had been a long time since i had to blow the candle, that i had to blow it twice! hahah because... i blew it at the wrong time the first time. i was so excited that i didnt wait for them to finish the bday song before i blew the candle. pelo was like "huh??? diba dapat tapusin muna kanta?" hahah. i was "ay ganun ba? sige take two." hahaha! it was really hilarious.
then i had a small dinner party with only close friends invited. i didnt want to spend my bday with people i hardly know and to have to play host because they might feel left out. so i decided, just close friends. we had filipino food and i loved it! sarap ng lumpia! philip also made his ever famous black sambo. yum!
koya texted me "i had a great time. it was how i like it. small and private" i too had a great time... it was nice being around friends, its no substitute for family, but it rocks. :)
thank you to all who greeted me. im deeply touched. a lot of the people who greeted me were people from assurance that i had worked with one time or another. which makes me miss all the good times i had in pwc. hehe. thanks to you all...
my bday wish? i almost cried when i made my bday wish. my bday wish was that Judy was in a better place and that she has now joined God's realm. I wish that she's now at peace and happy.
We miss you Judy. You are an amazing person. We love you. :'(

being alone and my love-hate relationship
Wednesday, November 29, 2006
here we go again...
back then, i thought nothing can be harder than working on three of the biggest clients of PwC but nooo... im still handling three clients, one of which is the biggest client of deloitte and two are well, very demanding clients. not to mention, i have the worst manager of all! i swear! she's worse than the worst manager in pw. argh!!! i tremble just thinking of her. yiieee... people are already cursing her. she's causing too much trouble. tsk tsk.
i pray to God that everything will be better. please please please pretty please!
im sooo tired. i feel like my body will just give in any time. and as i've told koya, i might just drop dead at the office and people will just say "o patay." and then just walk away. hehehe. pero sabi nga ni odette, can not. i still have to get married! :)
im sooo stressed, so stressed that im already starting to lose weight. no, im not bragging. im just stating a fact. hehe even a fellow wawie noticed it when i met her this afternoon. her first words were "nangayayat ka!" well, working at least12 hours a day does that to you.
went to buy three pairs of shoes last night. yes three pairs. three! i wasnt planning to. it just happened! hehe.. (it's all carrie's fault! i think ive been watching too much sex and the city.) oh! and i bought a bag. hehe. now i have a charles&keith discount card and feet that hurt like hell! hehehe... well, all for the love of shoes!
p.s i got my waw calendar. sobrang ganda!!!!

this morning, as i was on my way to my client, i had a very nice chit chat with my cab driver. i dont usually talk to cab drivers since I like the quiet time, just cruising on the highway and watching the world pass me by, but today, somehow, I couldn’t resist answering and actually engaging in a conversation with him.
Here’s a very short excerpt of the conversation that took place:
~~~~
Driver: "excuse me miss, you're not local?"
candy: "no, im not"
D: "i thought so, you dont have our accent" (candy thinking: thank God!) "where are you from ha?"
C: "im from the philippines"
D: "really? oh... you studied here?"
C: "no, i didnt, i studied in the phils and applied for work here"
D: "woa! that must mean you had high reports"
C: "not really..."
D: "so how long have you worked here?"
C: "about a year now" (my default answer hehe)
D: "oh, so you came here with your family?"
C: "no, i didnt. i came here alone"
and on and on and on. we talked about a lot of things: how i got to singapore, his youthful days as a seaman...
we also talked about my profession - auditing: how people leave audit firms after three years, how new employees are worked to death, etc etc he even knwso when the busy season is! He based it on how long the taxi queues in front of our building can get. (auditors rushing to their clients) Astig diba? Talk about being a very good observer!
but there was something he said that really made an impact on me today:
D: "you like singapore? You looked sad just now, saw you just now when you were getting in."
when i heard him say that, I wanted to cry. I wanted to pour my heart out and bawl… I wanted to tell him everything that I feel and how tired I am, but all I did was to remain quiet for a few seconds.
I’ve known for quite some time that im no longer happy. i'm so tired, i'm homesick, i'm lovesick, im miserable. Every waking moment, I think and I pray that all this will be over soon. but I never never realized that I actually look SAD and that people can tell! i am usually a very perky and jolly person (well, most of the time anyway)
but if people i dont even know can tell that im sad, then it must be true. And it must be getting worse than usual. :(
i just hope and pray that things will lighten up a bit. im sooooo tired.
taking a breather...
i practically work at least 12 hours a day! as in im ssoooo tired. i feel like i've been pushing myself to the limit! never thought that work can get this hard! (yes, much worse than the CYPMA, UNIPH and AMKAN combination! can you believe it?) maybe one day ill just drop dead. hmm... wont be a suprise if i do.
as the locals say:
what to do lah?
no choice what?
can die lah...
:(
