One YEARS

Yes one years... with an S :)

today and tomorrow are quite significant dates for me... they both signify one-year celebrations :)

Today - January 27, 2008 -er 2007 (see... i even mistyped the year!) hahaha... today i hit my one-year mark. one year from now, at around the same time, i will be travelling from my hotel room (either diamond, manila pen or makati shang) on my way to Shrine of Jesus, preparing to walk down the aisle. one year from now, i will be getting married! yahoo! we've pretty much covered all major suppliers. but we still have to settle a lot of minor details. but with one year to go, i think we'll be able to cover all bases without sweating much. hehe

Tomorrow - January 28, 2007 - happy anniversary!!! - to me. :) i'll be celebrating my one year anniversary here in Singapore. yes, one year na ako dito. grabe. everything seemed to fly by so fast... i wasnt really expecting for my one year to come sooo soon. one year has passed. how many more will there be? hopefully i'll still be here by 2008. :)

one years- i guess time do come and go quickly... i just hope that my next one years are better and happier.

My first photo "stint" - Rommel and Faye

No, im not going professional. And i do not have plans of being a professional photographer. It is merely a hobby of mine and something that I do enjoy doing. :) (Besides, i dont think i have the talent nor the moolah to be a good photographer! hehe)

I just wanted to try my hand on taking pictures at huge parties, and to learn how to properly set my WB! (if you'll notice the color of the pics are different, that's because I keep changing the WB setting every time! dont know how to set it properly! argh...)

Sis faye, hope you like the pics. Di naman professional, so bka pwede na din pagtyagaan. hehehe

Need to practice!!! For more photos, click here.

Here are some of the pics I took during Rommel and Faye's (fellow wawie) ROM celebration. (ie. civil wedding reception) hehe.

Another successful WAWsg EB! :)

After several months in the making, we finally had a WAWsg EB part 2! (the first one was held last October) :) We met up at the same place, Starbucks Raffles City. It was awesome to see that some of the 'oldies' were back (jen, faye, aslee and tin) and that there were some new faces as well.

Everything was the same, the atmosphere, the nonstop gabfest, the bonding, the friendships formed... The only thing we did differently this time around is that, we remembered to have dinner! hahaha :) It was really terrific. It was like a high school reunion, where you meet long lost friends and try to catch up as much as you can.

Everybody had a blast (well, I'm assuming they did. hehe coz i surely did)! No one felt out of place. People were talking left and right. There were food that remained untouched because of the non-stop chikahan. hehehe. It was FUN! FUN! FUN!

It was also very nice that this time around, there were nawies present. they shared some of their experiences as well as their 'supplier ratings'. it was really cool that they shared their tips and feedbacks.

We did miss the original WAWsg cast (jenluy, resie, lyn, joy) and also some of the wawsg members that were not able to join us. Hopefully next time, there will be more of us there. :)

It was really a fun experience. I can't wait for the next one! hehehe...

bad day... good thing there are friends :)

today was a really really really bad day.

it started alright with me going to my future ey office. it was fine actually. i just got my medical form and pelo toured me around. (i love my new office! it's fabulous!)

anyway, after that i went to fitness first to inquire about their rates. a bit sad about their rates though. my budget was only 60-80 sgd. basta lower than 100sgd. (i only pay 3sgd currently for my gym!) but as it turned out, it will cost me a friggin' 133 bucks per month plus gst! arggghhh! so i guess there goes my fitness first dream. sigh.

after that, went to the m1 roadshow in my current office. found out that i can still avail of the corporate plan eventhough im leaving already! (save some $$$!) and i got my new samsung! i've been longing for this fone for a long time and finally got it. paid only 7k. with the money ill be able to get when i sell my N73, i would i say i would about break even. or profit some. hehe

this is the part where every thing goes haywire... i went for a 2pm meeting with a client to discuss our findings. this client was tough. they were throwing out harsh words and they didnt want to agree to any of our findings!!! talk about stubborn. just because they will get it hard from corporate if and when they have issues. sigh. where's governance there?? huh??? my senior manager was already raising his voice. as in they were 'arguing' it was really scary. anyway, my finding came up for discussion soon. turns out, i did something wrong. arrghhh! i wanted to cry... so i had to rush to the office and redo some of the work. sigh... good thing the finding still remains valid. only the appendix got mixed up. (darn that VLOOKUP!)

i havent finished doing work for that client yet, and here comes another client meeting. now with another manager. how do i describe that meeting??? it was absolutely terrible!!! she said things that was demoralizing and was not necessary... good thing i only had a few findings (and my findings were at the end of the 20+ paged report) so i was hit the least... but my teammates, well, they crashed and burned! wah!!! that manager is really something!! i could have sworn she's a spawn of the demon himself! never again. im soo glad i dont have to work with her EVER AGAIN.

then another client. (my supposedly only client at the moment) my manager kept questioning the parameters i gave the client to extract the journal entries from sap... so eventually he asked me to ask the financial auditors. which i did... i asked the same question my manager asked me. and you know what that stupid financial auditor answered "is this a trick question or is there something i am missing here" talk about rude!!!! heller?!!! i dont even know the guy. we had only exchanged a couple of emails and he answers me with that! F*ck you man!!! stupid stupid! but im still a professional auditor so i ignored his comment and answered briefly. grr... eventually he gave me the answer i wanted to hear. argh!

so anyway, after this hellish day, im so glad that i was able to cap it off with a dinner with some of the closest friends from office. they even gave us a short video as a going away present. i am so deeply touched. i kinda remember last year's going away present from ian and the gang (the one where they asked the security guard to "apprehend" me and take me to jail) no i wasnt taken to jail but that was what the security head told me they would do! ian tlaga!!!

hahaha. it's always great to realize that even if i have the worst day, i still have friends i can count on and that i can still laugh and carry on with my life.

sigh. i guess that's part of my life as an auditor.

Wedding Updates (as posted in WaW)

I went back to Philippines last December 22. I wasnt planning to do a lot of things because it's december and Im pretty sure that no supplier will want to meet with me. bka taasan lang ako ng kilay! hihihi...

But we did manage to get a few things done:

1. We finally signed the contract with SOJ... grabe. ang strict pala tlaga nila. as in ang daming requirements. but the lady told me that tube gown is already allowed as long as decent looking naman... but i guess its not really a problem for me since my gown wont be a tube. hehe
2. We finally finally finally saw Esplanade - sa dami ng sakit ng ulo na inabot ko dito sa venue na to, im EXTREMELY happy that the place turned out great! as in suuuuperrr ganda. nung una, i thought sobrang laki nung place. ayun pla, kalahati lang dun sa amin. hahaha. pero fair enough. maganda tlaga cya. i have some pictures. but ihavent uploaded yet (hi sis kaye!! sobrang coincidence nagkita tayo dun! hehe) check out some pics of 1E here. (taken by yours truly)
3. Clarice and Lui met - before kasi it was only me who was always bugging clarice and asking her to do some things for us... and since free si clarice on the 27th, we decided to finally meet as a group and brainstorm. back from scratch kami. as in we went over every detail for the wedding which is really nice of clarice. considering na sobrang swamped cya with work et al.
4. Namanhikan na sila Lui - it was very simple yet very intimate and touching tlaga. they brought fruits, chocolates, and lui gave me this HUGE bouquet of carnations (my favorite!) i counted 40 stems! :) plus three tulips. hehe... sobrang kabado kami ni lui. pero as it turned out, mom ko and his parents lang nagusap. natatwa na lang kami sa tabi. hihi.. then we went for dinner with the Chao clan... (all of Lui's relatives in the father side) grabe nakakkaba... syempre interview interview. but good thing is that my dad and his uncles grew up together. so medyo marami naman kaming napagusapan. hehehe

okay that's all for now. :) oh!!! we also decided to get Minstrels (strings) na din. we were choosing between band and strings kasi and after seeing the venue, i thought strings would be a better choice :)

oki.. sorry napahaba na ata... :) yun lang! happy preps everyone!

Happy New Year! :)

a lot of things have happened since last year. there were triumphs, hardships, lots of overtime, new friends, realizations, proposals, and a whole lot more. looking back, it was a good year for me... and as always, no regrets for me.

my top 5 unforgettable events for 2006 are:
1. i finally moved to singapore - it was my first time to be away from my family and i am very proud that i am surviving... it was hard at first and is still hard, but im getting used to it. i am now domesticated. i know how to cook, iron my clothes and wash clothes. now i know i'll be a good housewife. hihi
2. i joined deloitte - not everything had been bad, there were good times as well. i got to travel to malaysia, indonesia and thailand; i made new good friends; i had grown more as an auditor. so it was not all bad... but it was not excellent either. ;)
3. i got engaged - what can i say? that made my year!
4. i reached my goal! (financially) - yes. i hit my target (peso) around september or october and so darn happy about it! :)
5. i lost a friend - i will miss you judy. you will always be remembered.

my 2007 has started quite good as well... i have been promoted to con2 (which was something i never really expected but quite happy about. who wouldn't be???) and i am transferring to a new firm. yes. i am moving to another firm yet again. . ;)

hopefully 2007 will be as good if not better than 2006... but what can i say? i cant wait for 2008! (in other words, cant wait to get married! hehe)
