I hope everybody had a great time during the New Year. I sure did :) Aside from the sumptuous meal that my mom cooked for us (a little too much i think)

I was also able to:

1. read some books (5 books in 4 days) (If you are a huge Harry Potter and Greek Mythology fan, I recommend that you read the Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan. It's awesome! :D Actually, it's a children's book but who cares?!)

2. worked out (3 out of 5 days)

But I guess the pigging out during the New Year didn't help with my weight loss goal. I actually gained some pounds. I asked my PT not to weigh me last Saturday as I am 100% sure that I gained and I didn't want it to affect my work out for that day. But having said that, I'm still trying to be optimistic with my weight loss goal. I will lose weight. I will I will I will :D

I promised myself I will do more cardio workout for the whole month of January. I guess one of the reason I'm not losing weight is that I do more weight training than cardio. I need to change that a bit... I also need to cut back on my calories and carbs. Sigh it will be a tough month ahead.

So what did you get for New Year? My best New Year's gift is probably my new LV zippy wallet c/o my Dad :) Yup for the first time, my Dad gave me money to buy an LV wallet. Happy me :D

What's your New Year's resolution? Me? I don't have any... I keep breaking them anyway hehe.

Finally, was able to watch Avatar after three days of planning. (first day - lui got stuck in traffic, 2nd day - tickets were sold out)

Anyway, I guess most of you know by now how amazing(!!!) the movie is! :) I guess you really have to watch it at IMAX or the 3D version to appreciate it. It was so damn cool! I loved it. Although the storyline was a bit cliche, I loved all the effects!!!

I mean, there's nothing wrong with incorrect grammar now and then... But hello, if you are going to post something for your customers to see, you might as well MAKE SURE that the grammar and spelling is correct. Hehe... Two cents ko lang.

Side note: I am so glad I have my Canon S90 na. I can bring it with me everyday, everywhere and take snapshots for my blog.

but after almost a week - i am bored out of my wits! :( i've already ran out of websites to visit. and i have a few more work days before new year! any suggestions?

not so good week

well, it was my birthday last week. and i did get to celebrate with my family so on that side, im pretty happy.

i was also able to submit my first audit report to my boss last week so that's done and now im a bit more "relaxed". nothing much to do at work until the new year comes.

now for the not sooo good vibes:

i had my weigh in yesterday. sadly, my weight didn't move down but up a bit :( 0.80 lbs to be precise. i guess it's my fault because i only went to the gym once last week :( this week has to be better!!! my PT made me pay for the .80lbs yesterday. i never worked out as hard as I did yesterday. yeesh. i was breathless. pathetic.

i had a great night last friday partying and celebrating my first ADB department christmas party. it was a blast. people went all out with their costumes and it was a totally relaxed and fun atmosphere!

but it got ruined when i had to wait for 2 and a half hours to get home... i waited for a cab near ADB but not one taxi stopped and to make matters worse, it was drizzling and i was carrying LOADS of stuff with me:( i didn't dare take the mrt because i was wearing my fairy dress (on hindsight, i should have changed clothes before i left the party! grrr). i started waiting at 10pm at ADB Megamall exit and ended up at Guadix exit by 11:30 (thought it will be easier to catch a cab there but not really). even manong guard helped me hail a cab but we're both unsuccessful. :( good thing my hubby came to the rescue. albeit a bit late... he was still there to pick me up at around 12:30am. sigh what a night.

i decided right there and then that I WILL LEARN HOW TO DRIVE ASAP. i don't want to be stuck somewhere again!

no more parties on a Friday until I learn how to drive! hmph.

THE birthday gift

lui gave me the BEST birthday gift ever! :)

background: i have always been conscious about my face - i used to have a lot of pimples and it took me countless products to finally find the products that work well for me. i am extra conscious about the dark eye circles and eyebags. i don't know where i got it but it has always bothered me - it just never goes away!

last month, i noticed that i was starting to get wrinkles around my eye area - laugh lines for some... and i started complaining to lui. he kept trying to appease me and say that i wasn't very evident but i was going on and on about it. hehe.

then one day, i asked lui to accompany me to Rustan's so that I can check the prices of La Mer here in Philippines. (I discovered La Mer before our wedding but only started using it months ago after hearing some great feedback from my Indo friend. it is a great product but price is a little too steep).

so i was there asking and the sales lady told me that i will be able to save some bucks if i buy the "collections". when i asked the price, i nearly fainted. but i wanted it. but it was expensive. ouch!

it was a surprise when lui suddenly told the sales lady that we were going to get it. i was like "we are?!" and he said that it was going to be my bday / xmas / anniv gift. (ganun cya kamahal!!!) i wassss sooo happy i could have kissed him right there and then! which i think i did hahaha...

anyway, here's my bday gift from my one and only pa-b:

last night the "yee" family was here:

dinner buffet with sushi, sashimi and grill (like korean grill).

the food was so-so but the company was great! :)

did i eat much? of course!!! it was my birthday what do you expect?! hahaha...

my mrt experience

last friday, i went to megamall to catch the 6:15pm body jam class... honestly, i haven't been to the gym the whole week because i was anxious of going home late and frightened that i wont be able to get a cab home.

but i forcefully motivated (is there such a thing?) myself to hit the gym and told myself to worry about my ride home afterwards.

fast forward to 8pm - i tried to get a cab for almost 30 minutes but to no avail (as expected). sooooo i decided to brave the mrt going home. *gulp*

so here are some thoughts i had when i took the mrt home for the first time in more than 6 years:
1. where is that damn escalator? - have you been to the ortigas mrt? have you been up the stairs! the stairs hmm what can i say? i think saying that it was high is an UNDERSTATEMENT!!! i was puffing and fuming when i finally reached the top! buti na lang i was still wearing my rubber shoes. if not, my feet would have already cried "foul!".

2. what's with people and with moving to the end of the cabin? - i noticed that people congregated in the middle of the cabin near the door EVENTHOUGH THERE WERE ENOUGH SPACE TO FIT AT LEAST 5 PEOPLE IN THE FARTHER SIDE OF THE CABIN!!! getting into the cabin was really really a challenge! i basically had to push and shove people away just to get in! it doesnt help when a *chubby* girl has to go in with a HUGE gym bag!!!

3. what do you need the holders / handles for? - it was so packed inside the cabin that i barely moved from the same spot at all! i wasnt holding on to anything but it really didnt make a difference :) you can use other people's body as barricade hehe. thank God mababango ang pinoy di tulad sa singapore! thank God for that talaga! :D

in fairness, i arrived in magallenes station in 10-15mins time :) where my loving husband picked me up and took me on a jeepney ride back home. hahaha commuter tlaga kung commuter ang drama ko :D

all in all it was a very enlightening experience :p will i do it again? definitely... i still have 80 pesos on my mrt pass :)

I watched MULAN the nth time and I still get goosebumps when I hear her sing "Reflection". I really really love her!!! :)

So you can just imagine the excitement I felt when I found out that she is going to perform the lead role in CATS here in MANILA!!! Good thing I didn't watch the play in Singapore. Good move hehe.

the biggest loser

i had my first weigh-in at fitness first last saturday and i weighed an outstanding and shocking 139.6lbs! p*tang *na!!!! i think this is the heaviest i have been in my ENTIRE LIFE. i think even in high school i didn't weigh this much! huhuhu... and to think i already lost some of the weight that i gained from china! ahuhuhu...

anyway, as i have briefly mentioned in my previous blog, i am now trying to lose weight - seriously. my initial goal is to get my "wedding weight" which i think is the leanest and slimmest i have been.

i have joined fitness first manila and already got a personal trainer and a nutritionist to help me lose weight the right way... good thing is that personal trainer and nutritionist rates are way way cheaper here in manila than in singapore!

so what is my "diet plan"? basically i have to monitor my food intake - i have to jot down all the food that i eat everyday and my nutritionist (cathy) will check my list every sunday. we'll also have a weigh-in every sunday to see if i lost weight or if i *gulp* gained more weight.

my personal trainer (sherwin) is in charge of basically making sure that I will be crawling back to the locker room after every session! lol. we had two "free" sessions last weekend and my body hurt like hell for a few days after that! but actually, i gave sherwin the go signal to torture me lol all for the name of losing weight. :p i actually showed him one of our wedding pictures and he said "ma'am anong nangyari sayo". wahhh.. lol gusto atang masapak!

i also committed on hitting the gym at least 3 times a week (although cathy would prefer if i go EVERYDAY! my gulay. hehe) we'll see how this goes. hopefully by next week, i would have lost 3 lbs (cathy's goal not mine. haha.)

literally... hehe.

im back in manila for exactly one month. i still encounter people looking shocked and ready to scream my head off when they hear that i came back to philippines from singapore. i.dont.care. i wanted to be here so now im here :)

people do ask me how im settling back in manila and all i can say is "it's all good!" hihi. honestly, there was no adjustment period. it really feels like i never left philippines for four years! :D it was an easy transition - everything just felt right into place :)

so what have i been up to? well, the whole family went on a tour of china for 2 weeks. it was great and tiring at the same time. ill save that kwento for another blog.

i have also started working at Asian Development Bank. so far, everything has been nothing short of GREAT :) 2 weeks in and im happy and i know i made the right decision :)

went back to gym (well, trying to go back to gym) and im also playing bowling with my cousins often. so hopefully, ill be able to get back to shape in no time! :D (have to get rid of the singapore weight i gained hehe). i also hired a nutritionist and personal trainer to help me do that... hehe. we'll see how it goes.

oh oh and one more thing! I HAVE WRINKLES. my ghad. have to lather on the creme de la mer as much as i can haha... bday is around the corner and cant wait to celebrate with family again! :D

got my first pay! woot.

But hold on-—even the Filipinos? Manila has just claimed sovereignty over the scattered rocks in the South China Sea called the Spratly Islands, complete with a blatant threat from its congress to send gunboats to the South China Sea to defend the islands from China if necessary. This is beyond reproach. The reason: There are more than 130,000 Filipina maids working as HK$3,580-a-month cheap labor in Hong Kong. As a nation of servants, you don't flex your muscles at your master, from whom you earn most of your bread and butter.

As a patriotic Chinese man, the news has made my blood boil. I summoned Louisa, my domestic assistant who holds a degree in international politics from the University of Manila, hung a map on the wall, and gave her a harsh lecture. I sternly warned her that if she wants her wages increased next year, she had better tell everyone of her compatriots in Statue Square on Sunday that the entirety of the Spratly Islands belongs to China.

Grimly, I told her that if war breaks out between the Philippines and China, I would have to end her employment and send her straight home, because I would not risk the crime of treason for sponsoring an enemy of the state by paying her to wash my toilet and clean my windows 16 hours a day. With that money, she would pay taxes to her Government, and they would fund a navy to invade our motherland and deeply hurt my feelings.

Oh yes. The Government of the Philippines would certainly be wrong if they think we Chinese are prepared to swallow their insult and sit back and lose a Falkland Islands War in the Far East. They may have Barack Obama and the hawkish American military behind them, but we have a hostage in each of our homes in the Mid-Levels or higher. Some of my friends told me they have already declared a state of emergency at home. Their maids have been made to shout 'China, Madam/Sir' loudly whenever they hear the word "Spratly". They say the indoctrination is working as wonderfully as when we used to shout, "Long live Chairman Mao!" at the sight of a portrait of our Great Leader during the Cultural Revolution. I’m not sure if that's going a bit too far, at least for the time being.

im always thankful for my mom kasi she always let us have the finer things in life - which i am grateful for. laging branded lol... ganun kasi si mama. no brand - no quality lol. she was may fashion consultant before and she would always buy me clothes from topshop, kamiseta, kashieca etc. o diva? :D haha sosyal si mama.

hayyyy naku tlaga katangahan ko tlaga kagabi.

went to yoga class last night and hit the shower right after. as i was hanging my towels, natamaan yung mata ko ng towel and i knew immediately that my contact lens was gone!!!

argh and i was in the shower room na!!!! i wanted to cry. i knew the possibility of finding my contacts is really really slim. meron kasi sa sahig yung parang butas butas na plastic (ano tawag dun?). i kept thinking "how am i supposed to go home with one eye!?"

for those who know me well, you'll know that i am as good as blind without my contacts... so you can just imagine the dilemma i was in!!! i mean, i wouldnt have a problem if i lost it at home (touch wood) coz i can ask my mom to have a new set made from phils and send to me and i can wear glasses to work everday. but the real problem was - how to get home?!

eventually i had to squat, kneel and basically made kapa to the floor (yuckyyyyyy). i kept looking for almost 5 mins ata and i really really wanted to cry na... finally i gave up. i stood up and started dusting my hands and lo and behold, it's there! somehow, it stuck to my hand when i knelt and felt the floor (i think)

hay tlaga. so i washed it very carefully and for a long time with hot water (i hope i dont get any eye infections).

grabe tlaga last night. argh.

okay, im not really prepared to blog about this just yet - i was going to wait for lui's photos and videos to be uploaded before i blog.

BUT was listening to Magic89.9 on the net and "Viva La Vida" played and omg, i kid you not, i got goosebumps and all the wonderful memories of the concert just came rushing in!!!

omg it was fanstastic! it is the GREATEST and most AMAZING concert i've been to... i was lucky enough to watch the corrs, mandy moore and maroon 5 but this concert just tops it all!!!

from the yellow balloons that came out during the song, the mexican wave, the costumes, the production, the confetti and most especially the live feed. grabe... i think if they render the entire live feed, they can immediately sell it na as DVD - it was that amazing. even the live feed was extremely thougth of! galing tlaga! super audience participation pa! there was one point where they moved from the stage to the audience area (as in audience no bars in between) and we were soo green with envy... wahhhhhhh... will post videos soon so you'll know what im talking about :)

lui and i loved every moment of it. to think we didnt know most of the songs ha. just the really popular ones. but we loved it sulit talaga!

pa-b happy, ma-b happy that pa-b loved his 'magsyota' anniversary gift!!! :D

budget budget

mitchie and i was talking about budgeting and saving up for our ultimate goals. she sent me a copy of the budget template that she uses.

i used it and really really tried to be as realistic as possible (what's the purpose of a budget if you wont be able to follow it anyway?)

anywayzzz, based on the result of the computation, if you combine my salary and lui' salary and minus all expenses. we can actually save approx $1500+++ per month!!! wtf! where does all that money go? huhuhu and that's on top of the 1500 monthly amortization that we need to pay!! meaning dapat net savings e nasa 3000+++ !!!! whhhaaaattttt huhuhuhu. but i dont save much every month. huhuhu

im blaming my credit cards. sh*t im throwing those cards away!!!! huhuhuhu... :(

discovered this thru mama benz - i swear mas marami pang alam si mama benz na masarap kainin dito sa singapore kesa sa akin! lol.

at first, i didn't understand what the craze is about. it's just bread for heaven' sake! and it's $19 per loaf!!! what?!!!!!!!

but i guess you have to try it to appreciate it :) they give out samples in takashimaya and it was really really nice. ended up buying one loaf for myself and buying some for mama benz (besos!). you can taste the great blend of bread and margarine in every bite. yummy tlaga!!! and it's not a small loaf... i swear my hand got tired of bringing two loaves! it was sooo heavy!

argh there goes my 'diet' hahaha. i oath to not to take more than two slices in a day... 1 for bfast and 1 for merienda lang dapat! haha i wish i can keep to that. yummy tlaga... even lui liked it. if not for the steep price, lui would have loved it! :D

been quiet for a looonnnggg time. i can't even remember when was the last time i posted a blog entry. yikes... parang di ako. :(

it's not that im busy at work coz really, im not busy. work has started to dwindle down and we have more time on our hands. maybe that's why... nothing has been happening ergo no blog entry hahaha :)

what have i been up to? nothing much really... just lying low and resting - been sick a lot of times. oh! i started golfing! woot i didnt know i'll have a natural knack for it!! lol thinking of getting pro classes with a bunch of my officemates.

travels are in the pipeline - going back to hk for holy week (if everything goes as planned), going to ho chi mihn for labor day weekend (cresta, hotel, dont forget), and several trips back to ph! (sorry mama benz, i really cant go back for the 10th waw anniv).

oh! we're watching coldplay!! woot! with m+k! double woot! :D

several movies that i loved: curious case, slumdog, watchmen (yes i liked it), marley & me (i cried still! i cried reading the book and i still cried over the movie. what a total crybaby), hmm what else... oh! he's just not into you. loved it. :) im waiting for confessions to come out, hopefully that will be good. (i dont like the actress though)

american idol is such a blah this year. i havent seen a really great singer, unlike last season...

ready "there's no place like here" by cecelia ahern... we'll see how that goes :)

oh im trying to be a pescataria (tama ba steph?). im trying to lose weight... need to lose at least 5kgs. hmmmmm achievable? errr... dunno. hahaha. another "we'll see how that goes"

hmmm i guess that's all for the update. hehe hopefully ill be more active starting now :D

it's been a year... a year of joy and tears and love :)

cant believe how time flies... parang kelan lang i was preparing for our wedding, now we're one year na!!! :)

it had truly been a wonderful year. i still can't believe how easy it had been. i guess when you're really meant for each other, you dont need to try hard to be happy with each other.

so to my dearest pa-b, i love you for so many reasons but mainly i love you because:
- you are my laughter when the world seems like hell
- you bring out the child in me :) ang kulit natin pare!
- you are my sounding board whenever i want to scream
- you wait for me on those nights that i had to stay late at work
- you always hug me when i am down; actually you always hug rregardless if im down or not hahahaha
- you take care of me and treat me like a princess even if you say you won't :P
- you make me get away with almost everything
- you say i am beautiful and mean it - i can be at my ugliest but you still see the beauty in me :)

I can't believe that i can love you more than the way i loved you on the day i married you... but I do. I love you thousand times more now and will love you million times more :)

here's to more happy moments, more travels and a new house! :) and hopefully a baby soon ;)

the story behind it all is... mama benz asked me to meet up with THE Jason Magbanua last week so that he can interview me about W@Wsg and W@W-Kanchiu. i was thrilllleeedd (to say the least). i've always been a magbanua fan, unfortunately, he was way over our budget :( (but i still love threelogy mwahs!)

the video - which includes fellow wawies and nawies was shown last Jan 30 in Rockwell Cinemas. (sosyal ng lola benz and lolo john diba???) too bad i was not able to watch most of the videos. after phoeben's video, we had to leave coz i was not feeling well and i had to meet my family for dinner.

soooo i bugged mama benz to tell me once the video has been posted. and i watched it in facebook.

it was awesome. it rocked. it ruled. weeeee to quote ever lovable veluz... "aylavet!!!!" hihihi...

to bobbi brown cosmetics!

arggghhh.....

i've always been a huge fan of bobbi brown blushes (can't live without it... have at least 4 colors). converted my friend che to a bobbi brown blush fan as well hehe.

but when i tried their gel eyeliner, i got hooked with the brand (ayayay!!!) all over again. i was a bit apprehensive at first because i thought the gel eyeliner is difficult to use. but actually it's not! amazing! and the best thing about it is that it DOES NOT smudge! perfect hahaha. :p (goes well with benefit's "gee that was fast" makeup remover - loving this products sooo much as well)

so went on a makeup shopping spree for my bday / christmas gift. lui was nice enough to sit back and watch AND not say anything. (but he did tell me that my next makeup purchase should be in June na. hihi)

i love their products tlaga! from their brushes, blushes, eyeshadow, concealer, face base, eyeliner, shimmer brick and stick foundation!!! but i don't like their lipgloss still. too sticky. i think i'll stick with MAC :p

Johor bahru + twilight movie = ???

note: this is my own personal opinion. eveybody has one right? hehehe

so... i loved the book, but did i love the movie? hmmm...

oki a little background before i start my reviews on the movie:

last weekend, my singapore friendships decided to watch Twilight in Johor Bahru today - since the movie will not be shown until dec 18 in singapore, i thought why not - i havent been to JB anyway so it would be a good chance to visit and have a look see. so why not give it a try?

i will tell you why NOT- because a trip to JB can be your most horrible out of country trip evah! OMG. you know how im sooo into travelling and trying out new things right? but this trip, this trip is a different level altogether. today is just too much for me. i wanted to throw a tantrum at the JB checkpoint. we queued for what i thought was ages. i was in pure misery. it was so f*cking hot and there was no ventilation whatsoever. it was so crowded - which is really bad for a claustrophobic person like me - it was misery to the highest level. as in when i finally reached the 'finish line' i couldnt help but swear my heart out. "p*tang ina!!!!!!! p*tang ina talaga!!!!!!" sighs. how that experience made me APPRECIATE singapore better. sighs.

anyway, so we finally arrived at the mall (after 10 years). good thing there were still some decent seats for the 4:20pm movie (we originally booked for 1:40pm good thing we didnt have to pay for that coz we totally missed the movie argh talga)

(sorry had to just include the ranting bit coz it might have influenced my take on the movie)

okay so back to the movie. so... how did i find it?

good parts first:
bella was awfully pretty! i heart her :); her dad's character was awesome haha funny and added a bit of life to the movie; the cars were fab! how i wish i can get a RED mercedes convertible as well! (drool); i love the location. it gave the right amount of gloom - just like in the book; and the cullen's house was just beautiful! i never would have thought that it would be that fantastic! glass windows all over oh my god my ideal home!!!!

parts of the movie were so familiar that i couldnt help feel giddy. they tried to be as accurate to the book as possible.

bad parts:
some of the castings are off... edward seemed a bit gay (too much lipstick!!), and his eyes looked like it was about to pop out most of the time (a bit hard to look at actually. feels like looking at an owl); jasper was just too painful. OMG poor jasper. i thought he'd look tougher and more brooding, but all he looked like was a consitpated guy. panget tlaga. they didnt even say what his power was.; carlisle - he was just too white. period; jacob - oh my poor jacob. he looked a bit lost. how i wish they'd cut off all that hair!

there were also some parts of the book that they didnt include. i was looking forward to the how edward showed the effect of the sun to his skin to bella the first time. because i loved that part. it was too romantic. but the movie was so condensed that everything happened all at the same time (you'll see what i mean when you watch the movie). i also missed the part where edward hugged bella in bed the first time (while bella was sleeping) that was so sweet. but it wasnt as sweet in the movie.

there were scenes that i thought they could have removed instead (was a bit flat for me - or maybe that's just my exhaustion)

so what's MY verdict?

it's still a decent enough movie to watch. a bit of a chick flick. but i wouldnt recommend that you watch it in JB - it's just so not worth it.

that's it. no more house for me and lui (well maybe until we get over the trauma of today)

it all started when, after body combat and 30 mins in treadmill, i saw lui's shirt had blood on it! blood! oh my f-ing sh*t!!! he had blood at both sides of his front shirt and on the back as well. i was in total shock. i demanded that he rush to the locker and see what's bleeding...

the time i waited for him outside the locker room was sheer hell. my imagination was running wild. a specific episode of house - where the patient perspired blood- kept running through my head. ghad... it wasnt the best thing to think about but i just couldnt seem to help myself. (apparently lui thought of the same thing and it scared him to death!)

after some time (thanks lui for making me wait in agony) lui came out of the locker room with a pained look on his face... apparently the blood came from his nipples

ghak. nightmare talaga. i was in total shock and was a nervous wreck. we immediately aborted all plans of pushing some weights and headed home ASAP. on our way home we were thinking of every possible thing that can happen... (we even decided that lui will have to go back to the phils asap to have some more tests done) blame it on dr house. argh

so eventually we arrived at our doctor-next-door's clinic... (the laughing hienna - coz he laughs at every illness) so we were there and i started by telling him that we went to the gym earlier (he laughs) and we noticed that lui's nipple were bleeding (he laughs again). lui and i couldnt understand what was so funny... until he asked us "did you run on th treadmill?" we were like "yah..." and then you know what he did? yup he laughed again.

so what's the prognosis? apparently, nipple bleeding is a normal fiasco (if i may call it that) and it happens mostly to male runners. apparently too much friction will give you bloody nipples. arghh...

but im glad that we finally know what happened and that there's nothing internally wrong with lui. i really THANK GOD for that.

what a day... stress na nga weekdays... stress pa din weekend ko! tsk.

i just realized that you're lucky if you're invited to a wedding as part of the entourage. coz you dont need to worry about your dress! (except for the design of the dress na lang hahahaha)

you see... I am attending 3 weddings from december to may (not that i'm complaining ha) and im having problems finding the right dresses! 3 different dresses!!!

why 3? well aside from different kinds of weddings (one is a beach wedding!), two weddings have almost the same crowd (wont look good if i wear the same dress will it?). sighs. gastos!

niko and i are drawing plans where he would create a gown for me to wear to one of the weddings and re-create the same gown so that it will look different enough that i can wear to another wedding. gets nyo hahaha.... but we'll see how that goes.

oh well, at least im looking forward to shopping for a bora dress hehe

just came back from parokya's concert here in singapore and i still have the best hang over (from too much parokya). all the way back from clarke quay i keep gushing about them to lui. i kept singing their songs and keep laughing at the same funny moment over and over. lol. lui thought i was drunk. but im not!!! i just have this adrenaline rush that i cant get rid of. they are sooooooo incredible! i loved every moment of it!!! plus it doesn't hurt that we got the best seats everrrr!! woot woot!!!

these past few days, i've been salivating over lechon. yes lechon. wahhhh. this is bad. there is nowhere in singapore i can get my hands on lechon. sighs. i have to settle with pictures muna i guess. hehe.

this craving for lechon started last september, when my cousin charlie announced (through multiply) about their native lechon - LECHON SABROSO

and then, just like that, they were all over! mama benz was raving about the lechon - they even posted in weddings@work newsblog, it was discussed in newlyweds@work yahoogroup, and my mom is raving about it! hahaha.

apparently, Charlie sent a sampler to my mom's house and the rest is history. haha i got several text messages from my mom, as well as a call just to share with me her delight with the lechon lol. she said she'll definitely order soon :)

what struck me the most was what she said: "sana meron na sila lechon dati, para nung wedding mo, eto na lang hinanda natin"

o diva? i think mom is in love.

and im still salivating. :s i guess i have to wait till december to try this oh so famous lechon... i already ordered two pigs! :) haha one for noche buena and one for new year's eve. hihihi

earlier this evening, lui asked what were we doing this time last year. and it made me think and decide to go back memory lane :)

apparently, this time last year, i was defending my fabulous VELUZ gown. an anonymous person left a not so nice comment on my gown sketch. i didnt have to explain neither did i have to defend VELUZ but i wanted to :) coz no other bride loved their gown as much as I did. (including all of ms v's gown hehehe)

i was on a pregnancy scare for almost two weeks when i finally decided to go get a test kit and find out once an for all. waiting for the result felt like forever, good thing lui is beside me, trying to calm me down. and then there it was. NOT PREGNANT clear as it can hehehe. im so glad i took the test, at least now i know for sure. (too bad i can't blame my weight gain on my pregnancy lol)

thanks to my friends for the support haha mas happy pa sila sa akin! special mention to che who volunteered to babysit! lol

dont take me wrong... it's not like i dont ever want to have a baby. i just honestly think that this is not the right time for a baby - with my workload and all... i know someday we'll be mom and dads, but in due time :)

whew too much excitement. im hitting the sack. nights!

dont ask. it's been one hella day at work and i thought it would never end! hmph. that's what happens when you go on leave (149 emails lang naman ang sumalubong sa akin no!!! and i was away for only a week!)

anyway....... ranting aside -

our trip back home was in one word "TOXIC" we had so much to do in so little time!!!

finally got my new glasses and contact lenses. my grade increased yet again :( but i'm so loving my new BEBE glasses :D oh got a new haircut and color to go with it!

we flew off to davao on our second day... partied with grandma for her 79th bday and celebrated with grandpa for his 24th death anniv. daming food!!! met up with friends almost every night! i think i've been to almost all the coffee shops in davao! hehe.

oh lui also had his braces removed!!! ANG GWAPO NA NG ASAWA KO!!! woot!!!
so after 4 days in davao, we went back to manila, full and few pounds more. hehe... we then visited (for the first time) the condo that we bought in taguig.

i loved it!!! from the moment we stepped (or stirred the car) inside the compound, i knew we made the right choice! it was awesome... it lived up to my expectations... it's like living in a resort everyday! :)

oh i almost forgot! we met up with mama benz and baby jenn as well last thursday. that's when we got our wedding video :) it's really really awesome! :) belated happy birthday ulit baby! mama benz, kita kits tayo ulit!!!

super not stop eating, is what we did... we tried crawdaddy's (???) at the fort high street, holy cow at rob place manila and a steak house in greenbelt 5. i cant remember the name though... hmmm delicious! i highly recommend holycow. it's cheap yet very tasty! (sabi nga ni mama solid! hehe)

trivia: i've been having tiramisu cravings for two weeks now and i just realized how weird the tiramisu in the philippines are. i tasted one which had a gelatin texture, one with mostly chiffon cake, one that tasted like cheesecake and so on. geeezzzz... im still looking for the perfect tiramisu :S

oh well, that's it for now, heading off to bed. been a llooooooooooonnnggg day and i know it'll be the same tom.

it wasn't as dramatic as i expected. it was light cool and fun - just as things were during the day of our wedding...

jenn told me not to cry when i watch the final video. sorry.. i couldnt help it. i cried... cried from laughing too hard!! lol. mae, the editor, added a bloopers segment and lui and i couldnt help but laugh our hearts out. oh man. what a crazy crazy day. lol we can even hear mimi's laugh on the video. haha i guess everybody really had a crazzzzzyyy time that day! :)

as of posting time, i've already watched it twice. will be watching it again tom with my family. :p

from a wawie to a nawie (sg version)

we had an EB weeks and weeks ago (sorry this is long overdue na!!!) the transition from being a wawie (weddings @ work members) to a nawie (newlyweds @ work)? it was amazing!

before there were not stop chikahan about suppliers, gowns, photogs, venues, budgets and what nots. everything and anything that has to do with wedding - we covered. NOW it was pregnancy, getting pregnant, diet, work, family... basically anything and everything in LIFE :)

i guess it's a great thing that the group here in SG is quite strong. coz even past wedding stuff we still have a lot to talk about. and it comforts me to know that nothing changed - an EB is still an EB :) nonstop gabfest to the highest level!!!!

but the last EB we had? OH BOY! it was the longest running EB ever! tin and i met at around 12 to grab lunch together. around 2, the other wawies started coming. until finally we ended at 6pm!!! LOL grabe we had so much to talk about!!! i think if time permitted, we would have stayed until dinner! :)

thanks to my fellow wawies, eventhough we rarely meet up, i know that you will always be there! hope that we continue growing and adding new members to our FAMILY :) at sana ang mga oldies, mag sulputan naman! hehehe mwahs to all!

tampines swimming complex

last sat, lui and i were supposed to go jogging in the morning, but as soon as stepped outside, the rain started to drop. so instead of wasting the effort of waking up early, we decided to finally visit the swimming complex. :p

flashback: couple of months ago, i told lui that i want to start swimming again. aside from helping me lose weight, i know it will help me tone my muscles... but after that day, we never had the chance to go! hahaha i even bought a suit! but never used it until last saturday.

what i saw pleased me! the swimming complex was huge with 2 olympic sized pools and 2 other smaller pools for kids. the locker was (amazingly) clean and HUGE!!! i loved it... it erased all my anxiety of trying public pools. (trauma na ata sa pinas)

i swam total of 5 laps. man, was i out of shape! my lungs were burning, my arms were aching, my thigh was going numb. but all in all it had been great! managed to teach lui how to basic swim! :D

so will i go back? DEFINITELY!

my bestfriend - Dave; we have a unique friendship since we dont really hang with the same group. however, we were able to build a solid relationship based on passing letters in school :)

i still remember those days when we'd see each other in the school corridors and would take turns asking each other "where's my letter??" we'd write everywhere! in a piece of scratch paper, at the back of an exam paper, tissue, etc... name it, we've done it :) those letters were really precious as it helped me go through high school. i'd rant, gush on my crush, dream on those letters :)

when we graduated we continued to write each other thru e-mails (thank god for technology!) or call each other. hay i sure miss those days :)

i remember during the wedding, when clarice asked the men to carry me, my barkada all volunteered him to carry me :p haha maybe they know he wont drop me? or maybe, they dont think they can carry me? hmmm hahaha

i wanted to get the white phone at first... but i decided against it because it looks too white - read: too fragile. :) knowing myself, i'll just toss it inside my bag and leave it there. hehe so white is a big NO-NO.

today has really been a hectic and very depressing day...

for one, my work sucks... i mean, i can deal with the stress of my work - the overtime, the juggling of two to three (or sometimes 10) clients at a time, etc etc what i can't deal with is clients who are sooooooooo f*cked up that they'd do anything to make your life miserable. shet tlaga. for the first time since i joined my present company, i stormed my partner's room and literally ranted about our client. i wont let the client give my partner the impression that im inept. i just wont have it. i was so pissed that i really felt that i was having a heart attack. my heart was palpitating and i had a hard time breathing.... good thing my partner is understanding. (i hope he meant what he said). but i was really near to tears when i was ranting in his office. i couldnt even sit down. sighs....

second, my tax assessment just came. just when i was getting used to the thought that it will never come. it comes and haunt me :( at least the tax rate here is around 10% - 12% lang. not as bad as phils.

third, my laptop is acting up on me. i've been meaning to bring it to the service center but we keep procrastinating. i really think we need to bring it to HP this weekend :( i've been using lui's laptop for the past week na.

they say good things come in threes. i hope it's the same way with bad things. i hope nothing else comes along.... hay...

exagerrated i know :)

im just ECSTATIC that im finally going back to the phils after almost 9 whole months. the last time i went back was last january pa, for the wedding... as compared to last year, which saw me flying home almost every 2 months!!!

so we're finally heading home on the 30th of aug then flying straight to davao the following day. :) it's going to be a hectic but fun-filled week for us!

aside from that, i've booked our flights home for december na din! via SINGAPORE AIRLINES. woot... hahaha first time for me. i did a comparison between PAL and SQ and it turned out the later was cheaper. (cebu pacific is no longer an option for us. no way...)

at first we were contemplating on staying in SG because of the steep flight tickets as well as the fact that we're going back in January for our anniversary anyway (bora baby! sa wakas. hahaha) but christmas and new year is still best spent with family and loved ones. no one can convince me otherwise.

so yah, im taking out my dancing shoes and dancing to my happy tune :) because...

IM GOING HOME!!!!

voice mail and people

i had 4 unheard messages in my voice mail today (yes, i am bad at retrieving messages). as i was listening to the messages, i realized that diff people leave diff kinds of messages.

for example... the first message was from an unknown person who left a useless message on my phone. i literally had to wait for around 5 mins to hear the whole message which consisted of nothing but background sound (i think the person left the phone hangging, but who would do that?!). this shows me that the person who did that is completely clueless. hehe or just too busy to be bothered with putting down the phone :)

the second and third messages were from my mom. she's so cute. hahaha she sounds so fierce in the messages. she left a very short and straight to the point message: "candy, text ka pag available ka na. ako tawag" o diva? no his or hellos. hehehe i think she's too shy to leave a message :) that's why she said everything in haste. that's my mom, she's really the shy type (kuno! hehe)

the fourth message was from my dad. complete opposite of my mom. he's so used to talking to a voice machine (maybe because i keep 'missing' his calls) hehehe. his was a long message saying something like i should give him a miss call when i get the message and he'll call me and we can catch up. it just shows how confident my dad is. somehow, im lucky i got that trait from him (i hope yun lang hehe)

wala lang. obviously, i have no better things to do or blog about. i've been deported to woodlands for 3 weeks without any access to the outside world (read: internet) buti na lang im back at the ofc! :)

yun lang... nothing much to say. my head hurts. im just waiting for lui to come home. nyt!

my computer is going bonkers. :( sometimes, when i try to boot up, it wont. parang it hangs lang... then i manually shut it down by pressing the on/off button, after that, when i try to restart it, it boots up na.

a pleasant surprise

this morning, i was greeted by a very pleasant surprise :)

as i was waking up from deep slumber, lui silently told me that jenn posted a blog about us. that made me get up on my feet FAST hehe. i immediately looked for my glasses (as i am good as blind without it) and started reading the long blog before taking a shower :)

it was sooo touching and sweet. and i enjoyed reading it as i got a different vantage point of the wedding :) ang saya saya :)

for those who don't know, jenn is part of threelogy's team and i was lucky enough that they asked jenn to shoot during our wedding :) aside from niko, mimi and karl, jenn is one of our precious suppliers that i really still keep in touch with :) and i endearingly call her my baby... now, our baby as lui adopted her as well. hehehe.

thanks baby for the wonderful blog. super touched ako :D dont worry dear, you'll find your own lui someday :)

havent posted a decent blog for some time now... hehe... so wat happened since? and wats up and coming?

1. i started my yoga class! 2 days in a row... so far so good...

2. im going on a diet. again... i really need to lose weight. I KNOW i gained weight.

3. i still havent posted our 2nd shoot with my housemates and our HK trip pictures (argghhh)

4. i got a new phone :D i was looking at this phone last sunday at Best Denki and told Lui that I really really want to get the nokia 6500 but dont have the money yet (i told him im waiting for my bonus)... the following day, when i got home, as soon as i opened my drawer, there it was... neatly placed on top of my clothes... my new nokia 6500classic in gold! with a matching note:
"Hi ma-b!!! I love you so much!!! - Lui (Pa-b)" o diva?! sweetness?! :D

5. my sis is driving me nuts... she's supposed to come to singapore to work and so far, i still cant understand if she's really coming or not... talk about fickle-minded. hay... anyway, i wont decide on anything until the plane tickets are booked and paid for.

6. watched indiana, narnia and sex and the city... i love the three of them!!! but SATC is the best!!!!!! i dont mind watching it again (ehem ehem mitch)

7. i got out of this very long project that i really really didnt want to be part of... but bad side, i get three clients instead of that one LONGGGG project. oh well... :)

8. my good friend and partner in crime (when i was in pwc) is coming to Singapore! :D hehe emong, mag emcee pa kaya ulit tayo? :) woot woot! im soooo excited!!!

9. we've finally issued our cheques for our condo... now this is the part where it gets nasty. hehe the monthly downpayments. kaya namin to! go go go! :D

my attempt on losing weight

since i need to really lose some pounds, i decided to join a yoga club - eventhough i never really tried yoga before (well, except for that one time. hehhehe... :))

im excited and apprehensive at the same time. i dont know if i'll fall for yoga or not... that's why i only took a 3 months membership with Pure Yoga. hehe para in case i don't like it, i can stop after 3 months :D but yahhh im trying to be optimistic. i really really hope i get hooked. :) tapos i lose weight then i can wear those cute yoga attires i always see in nike (hehehe shopping na naman!)

anywayzzz, aside from that, any other suggestions on losing weight? :D

1. when i was in high school, a basketball game between feu and a china team was held in our school gymansium (feu was the best uaap team then, before la salle bwahahahah :D) and since we were COCCs (soon to be CAT officers), we were tasked by our commanders to go and get the signatures of the players (yes ganun kasadista ang commanders namin dati) hehe... while waiting at the sidelines, some reporters took a shot at us and showed our beautiful faces in national tv. (yaks heheh)

2. august 2005 issue of FHM... in the planet woman section, if you look carefully, you'll see my face there. the question was "what is rambo's first name?" i really really didnt know what his first name was. so i made a wild guess. my response was "hhmm i dont know, could it be john?" i thought about john coz it's the most used name in america hahaha. analytical thinking at its best :D you dont believe me? take a look at the photo below :D

3. may 27, 2008 - today, my mom called me to tell me that our pictures by mimi and karl are in the news... lol apparently m+k were interviewed in ANC and our picture were some of the pictures they showed in tv. yahoooooo :D (hahaha nakikisawsaw sa 3 mins of fame nila m+k) hihihihi

ang galing galing tlaga ng M+K... ibang level na! buti na lang we got them nung mura pa lang sila. hahaha kidding guys!

because of stephy's blog entry, i became intrigued about the movie... I wanted to see what went on and what prompted steph's reaction to the movie...

all i can say is... i wish i hadn't. it was gruesome. it was sick. it was disturbing.

halfway through the movie, i couldn't take in what was going on so i tried to search for the true story thinking that the real story is less brutal. but i was wrong...

the movie pales in comparison to what really happened

i was soo disturbed about the movie that i couldn't get a decent sleep and for the first time, was actually talking in my sleep (according to lui). and i woke up with gastric problems. yes, the movie is THAT bad.

the worst part of the movie for me is KNOWING THAT IT ACTUALLY HAPPENED. :(

in all fairness, ellen page (of JUNO) did a great job portraying sylvia, the victim.

okay... i promise this is the last time i'm going to drool over him

david cook became my bet as AI winner from the first elvis song he sang during the top 24... i liked his voice and can't over the fact that he can make an elvis song sound great :) i forgot the title though...

i totally disagreed with simon when he said that david cook didnt have any charisma. heller... does he watch him sing? with those tantalizing eyes which makes me absolutely kilig and that very sultry voice? he does have charisma! (though he looks really old for his age... with the beer belly and the receeding hairline) hehe...

david archuleta is great. but he's just too good to be true and he just has too many fans. usually i go for the underdog hehe. (elliot yamin, doolittle, etc) i think the rumors about his dad didn't help him one bit.

cookie has some album-worthy songs under his belt, with "hello", "billie jean" and "always be my baby". and of cors the new single "time of my life" it's a great song really - not bad for the coronation song. hee :D my friend and i were pretty sure that even if cookie didn't win, he'll still have a hit album.

all in all it was a great season... full of very talented americans singing their hearts out. there were also a lot of twists and turns that kept us on our feet. but yah... i think america did get it right this year :D

i want to get a new lens but can't decide which one to get :(

i'm drooling over the nikon 80-200 f2.8 but shit, it costs a whopping S$1,100 brand new! lui is telling me to get it as he know i really really want it. BUT at the back of my head, i still have doubts since i dont know if im that good a photographer to get this very nasty lens :( parang wala pa ata akong karapatan :( plus, it's not cheap!!!

but if i get a cheaper lens now (18-200 VR, 55-200 VR or 70-300VR) i might regret it in the future naman...

what do you think? which should i get?! time's a ticking... we'll be heading off to hong kong tom. sighs... decide decide decide.

bad trip!!! i dont know why the ladies' toilet here in singapore always smell like poop!!! especially early morning and after lunchtime. the safest time for me to go in the toilet is when the 'auntie' puts up the 'cleaning in progress' sign. wahhh

omg... di ko na kaya... i went in and i felt like puking. my gosh! ano ba. why cant they take their business somewhere else. since i really really need to go, i had to pull my shirt up to cover my nose... yes, it is THAT BAD.

kadiri tlaga... arghhh... im sick of smelling other people's poop! i need a gas mask or something!!!! wahhh!!! oohhh!! did i forget to tell you the mess they leave behind?! arggh!!!!

sounds like eureka. heheh... that's actually how the locals of malacca spell the name of their country :)

lui and i headed to malacca last may 2 for a two nights stay. my australian boss raved about the place that i couldn't help but be curious.

we took the grasslands bus to malacca. the bus was great. it was comfortable and a lot of leg space. you can even recline your seats to make it seem like a bed. only thing is the bus we got heading back to singapore was less fabulous than the bus going to malacca. tickets cost $110 for two return tickets. (including taxes)

we booked the hotel through the internet. my boss recommended the place where they stayed in so i just took her word for it... hotel puri is a small but cute hotel. the location is amazing! just 5 mins walk to jonker street and around 15 mins walk to the nearest tourist attraction :) the room was nice, clean but a bit small. but there's no stuffy or old smell. the staff were super nice and efficient! the breakfast was so-so. the 2nd breakfast we had, tasted like a recycle of the previous day's. the spa was great!!! amazing. hehe... the overall ambience of the hotel is awesome... it gives you a vibe of the old houses in malacca... you can read the history of the building in the website :) overall, i'd still stay at the hotel if i go back to malacca. it costs only $80 per night.

our first day in malacca, right after checking in and settling our stuff, we didnt waste a single minute and so, with our trusty map, we started exploring malacca :)

our first stop: famosa chicken rice balls!

my friend told me that this is a must try... and it is... hehe it's a different version of the chicken rice here in singapore. instead of rice, you get this squid ball look-alike that tastes like salted flour hehehe but very addicting. (we went back the next day) hehehe

after lunch, we walked around jonker street to look at the antique stores and souvenirs stores and went straight to the famous Stadthuys museum. (we paid 2RM each) the museum basically tells you the history of malacca (melaka was ruled by dutch, portugese and british... that's why they have a very rich culture)

after stadthuys, we visited christ church. according to the tour guide we had the following day, all the materials inside the church are all orginal from 18 something something :) cool...

basically, we were following the map of must sees in malacca. hehehe our next stop was supposed to be the youth museum but sadly it was closed. so we headed to st. francis xavier's church. it was closed so we just took pics from outside.

on our way back to the hotel (we decided to head back as it was really scorching hot outside!) we saw this little dutch restaurant. since we never tried dutch food before, we gave it a try. our verdict? the cassava fries was too oily. but the drink was refreshing enough :)

actually, we didnt go straight to the hotel. we were side-tracked by all the things in jonker street - all the stores and what nots. really a cool place. so we actually reached the hotel around 5pm na din lol...

we had dinner at this little restaurant that we saw in jonker street. it looked so cozy. we ordered a sandwich and lasagna... the sandwich is huge!! lasagna was amaaaazing :) after the sumptuous dinner, we went around jonker street again, but this time to enjoy the night market that they usually have on fri, sat and sun nights only :)

day2 saw us taking a guided tour :) it was great because we at least didnt have to walk. but would you believe that we walked from the mall back to the hotel? it's like walking from glorietta to rcbc tower in hot hot hot weather! init sa malacca grabe. my feet now have tan lines from may havs hahaha.

after the tour, we went back to the hotel for some r&r. since the day's activity was too tiring, we decided to try the spa at the hotel (sweet!) we paid around 250RM for two for back massage. very very very nice... i went straight to bed right after. hehehe

third day... we made some last minute shopping and decided to try the geographer's cafe... it's just around the corner from the hotel and we always see a lot of caucasians eating there so we just wanted to try it out. try their chicken nonya. sarap :D

ayun lang... by noon, we had to go back to singapore na :( all in all it was a great trip... i would recommend it for people who has the patience to walk far in scorching heat and those who are interested in culture.... malacca is a mix of cebu and davao. very urban. so unlike singapore.

im so glad that i have the best travel buddy ever.... no great place will be as good without an amazing companion :D

yun lang... visit malacca. its a great get away from the busy hustle and bustle of singapoe.

okay... i stole the title from clarice's blog hehehe. pero can i just rant?!!!!!!

sh*t talaga im so pissed off. and minsan lang ako magalit talaga...

here's the scenario:

april - i got our SP bill and paid it through internet banking on april 21.
may 5 - i got the SP bill for the month of april. guess what?!

the bill still includes the total amount billed last month. so for example, 200 yung last month tapos 300 this month, 500 ang nakareflect sa bill naman. so medyo muntik lang naman ako himatayin no...

since i got in late na around 8pm, all the call centers for SP services and HSBC were already closed. so i had to wait for morning to come. but i already updated my housemates and they were being optimistic telling me nahuli lang daw ang processing ng SP. so fine.

this morning at around 8:30 am, i called up SP. i informed them of our situation and asked them if they received the payment. the guy i talked to said NO. NO payment was received. okay fine... i was still okay. then i called up hsbc next... they on the other hand, informed me that payment has been made and "how can SP say that payment was not made when in fact it has left hsbc singapore" heller how would i know. i dont freaking own their system! (kelangan ma-audit yang system nila palpak!!!!!!)

soooo i called up SP again and they again told me that the last payment received was last march... arggghhh they wanted me to go down and show them my bank statment. ano sila hilo?! may trabaho kaya ako no.... sabi ko the best i can do was to send the email to them with a screenshot of my statement (buti na lang i did this last night). fine daw. (leche tlaga)

since i dont have internet access here in client (im in the airport btw), i had to call my friend che to send the email to sp. (i sent them the bank statement last night to prove to them na i paid. I PAID! shet. f*ck SP tlaga!!! causing me all this stress) pakshet!!!

anyway, so the email has been sent out. im now just waiting for their call. hopefully. HOPEFULLY they resolve the problem.

this is the very first time i encountered any problem using internet banking in my two years stay in singapore. shet it just changed my whole perception of singapore. (you're not perfect!!!) arggghhh talaga.

sorry super long ranting na to. im just so pissed. i was shouting at the SP customer service person na nga e. and i was tearing up when i called che. as in sobrang bad trip ako.

IRON MAN - wooowww!!!!

okay, compared to jenn, i am a Marvel person. hehe tomboyish kasi ako when i grew up and i always watch marvel cartoons - iron man, hulk, superman, spiderman, spiderwoman, batman, fantastic 4, name it, i've watched it... favorite ko nga dati as in super favorite is x-men :) (sabi ko nga tomboy ako!)

when i found out that iron man was showing soon, i was neutral. let's face it, there are some marvel flops here and there. but when i found out that ROBERT DOWNEY JR. was portraying iron man! OMG! i have to watch this! :D

i love Robert Downey... i find him hot and fantastic, from his movie with that catchy song "walk like a man, talk like a man" (sorry forgot the title of the movie), to his mtv with elton john :) i looove him! sayang lang naging drugista cya :(

anyway, what is my verdict over IRON MAN? FANTASTIC!!!!! one of the best... i think it is a tie with transformers for the best movie watched for the year. (miles and miles away from forbidden kingdom which is a disappointment for me).

watch it!!!! it's soooo worth the money. :)

just booked our hotel for hong kong next week! we were looking at dragon hostel but when i read that there were cockroaches (gasp!) we decided to look for another hotel... we decided to go for ramada hong kong hotel. since wotif.com is giving out a promo, we decided to book it (3k pesos more expensive than dragon hostel - for 5 nights).

yey... we're going hk!

OH!! BTW, lui got a job! hehe but we informed his employer that we are going hong kong and they're fine with it :D

it's my first time to get a haircut here in singapore - oh scrap that...my 2nd actually but first time under the hands of a singaporean ($27!!! wth!!!) im usually happy to have my hair cut in bench fix in the phils :) cheap cheap.

im sooo happy. we've finally decided to go abroad! (the decision was pushed by the fact that i can't take leave from june to december because of a project... arghhh) hehe i love travelling. must be the fact that im a saguittarius :)

so this labor day, we're heading to malacca! :) booked the bus ticket as well as the hotel :) it's near singapore, around 3 + hours? we're staying for two nights and hoping to get loads of good pics :)

on vesak long weekend, we're flying off to hongkong :) staying there from may 15th to 20th :) hoping to visit disneyland, ocean park, macau and buy some camera stuff as well. (camera gears are cheaper there) and of course, loads of shopping! :) we still need to look for a hotel though (suggestions?)

well, that's all for may... hihihi... we really wanted to go to perth but the air tix are so expensive! we'll wait for another promo or the next travel fair :)

i still want to visit bangkok, phuket, perth, melbourne, us in the coming year or two :) good thing i have lui with me. hehe my forever travel companion :)

top 12 tips for soon to be brides

for all the wawies who visits my site and leave wonderful messages, this one is for you...

(in no particular order)

1. plan early - i couldn't reiterate how lucky we are that we planned early. we managed to save a lot (threelogy, alex franco, 1Esplanade, SOJ). it was amazing what a year or two can do. trust me.

2. research about your suppliers - before we even booked our suppliers (and even after we did) we made it a point to learn as much as we can about them - their niche, their achilles heel, etc. that's one of the reasons i keep visiting the blogs of my suppliers - i wanted to find out more about their work and try to base my expectations from there. :) another thing is i learned iwhich supplier worked well with which supplier and i tried to hook them up on our wedding, the end result? total riot! :) hahaha...

3. trust your suppliers - a lot of times, i left the decision making part to the suppliers - from my gown, to the choice of songs for the avp and onsite video, to my entou's bouquet, wine, styling, etc :) but it all went well... i believe that there's a reason why you chose a particular supplier and if you dont trust them to do their work, then you shouldnt have booked them in the first place. plus, letting loose of the leash (or so to say) will give your suppliers a lot of room to work with :) dont constrict your suppliers - let them do what they do best - their job :).

4. set your priorities straight - is it the gown, the church, the food, the reception? know what you want and stick with it. you cant have everything (well, unless you have the moolah to go with it) for us, our least priorities were the invites, the bouquet, the souvenirs, music (hehe), entou gowns, bridal car, church flowers... these are the things that we think we can live without really. our main priority was the photo and video... the tangible stuff :) so that goes with the gown, makeup hehehe. anything that will show in the pics - thats why i really regret my decision in getting mang boy (well a bit coz i was a bit disappointed) hehe.

5. set a budget - do this even before you start your preps. but set a buffer (for the nice to haves hihihi). we did set a budget - and a realistic one. there is no sense in setting a budget that is way too low. it will only cause you stress. set a realistic budget that you can work with. assess how much you have and how much you can let go without feeling the pain. :) in our case, we went a bit over our budget BUT we made sure that we can do it without sacrificing the security we have after the wedding. meaning we should have more than enough cash to live by. (DO NOT SPEND ALL YOUR SAVINGS ON YOUR WEDDING!)

6. look for sponsors - we managed to save a bit by asking some of our close relatives if they can sponsor parts of our wedding (please refer to the THANK YOU blog). it helped a lot and it gave our relatives the chance to be part of our wedding :) mind you, some of them will be more than happy to help - you just have to ask nicely.

7. prepare your tips beforehand - :( i think this is one of the areas that i really really really failed :( i totally forgot about the tips and i feel that i miscalculated some (apologies to that really). i only remembered about the tips on the day of the wedding when we were about to have lunch, so i quickly dragged my mom to the restroom and we began counting money and putting them into red envelopes. i really didnt have any idea on how much to put. uuuwaaahhhhh.... i was really in a panic, i can hear the suppliers outside shouting "where is the bride" "where is kends" and people kept knocking telling me "ma'am are you okay? kain na po" sighs... i really really am sorry to all the suppliers. i hope i did not offend anyone...

8. trust your insticts / take risks - we women have good instincts so use them :) hahaha... there were a lot of time that i decided on a whim (clique, balloons, suppliers) but i never regretted anything

9. visualize your wedding - that is one of the things that i did for the wedding. i tried, as much as possible, to visualize how i want the reception to look like, from the program to the setup to everything. i always visualized it as simple yet elegant. and i guess, we pulled it off :)

10. when in doubt ask - we are all lucky that we have w@w. you can ask as many questions as you want and you'll know that someone out there, in different parts of the world, will answer your question :)

11. enjoy your preps - i enjoyed our 2 years of preparation until the very last moment. :) i loved it. if i can be a coordintor i would but i cant hehehe... but i am willing to help out anyone, just ask and you shall have an answer (if i know the answer hehehe)

12. be nice to your suppliers!!!! - i can never reiterate this enough to lui hahaha. he can tend to be a bit aggressive/rude at times so i always tell him that he has to be nice to the suppliers. come on, lets all admit it - suppliers can make or break your wedding. the fact that you are paying them does not give you the right to be mean to them. be nice. they are only human... the nicer you are, the more willing they are to help. but please, dont be plastic. they'll know. hahaha. i love the fact that i managed to gain some friends over the course of our preps - niko dear and baby jenn, i love you! mimi and karl - thanks for enduring my kakulitan in our chat sessions. haha pati na din si ms v na laging busy lol :) and syempre ang pinaka love kong si mama benz! mwaaahhhsss! love you all! xoxo

well, that's it. there are so many things i want to write pa. like walk slow and savor your walk, eat eat eat, guestlists are important!!!, etc

last week (was it last week lang?) i saw Resie's (fellow wawie) photos of her new condo in Riverfront, Pasig and I instantly fell in love.

flashback: lui and i had been looking for a house/condo since we got married. we were initially planning to buy from cityland but changed our mind because of some issues. blessing in disguise na din siguro coz we would have been tied and we would not have the money to buy this lovely condo :)

instead of riverfront, we got another of DMCI's projects - Rosewood Point, this one is in taguig or better known as the fort. :) we didnt see the place in actual but we just relied on the taste of my mother in law and brother in law :) (and the pics they sent) hehehe....

so today, the deal has been sealed we have paid the reservation fee and we are buying a condo! :D OMG sana tama tong ginagawa namin! bwahahaha...

Candy (or Kendz to most people) and Lui got married last Sunday. Judging from Threelogy’s amazing onsite video, it looks like it’s one of the most beautiful weddings that I’ve ever seen (and watched).

Kendz is my co-w@w and co-w@wsg member. She’s very active in the w@w community. She is one of those brides who started her preps early. She has documented almost every step of their wedding preparations. And she’s so nice to her suppliers. Well, she was able to assemble a dream team that most brides would want.

Aside from always remembering her as being kaladkarin (read: she’s always game for any lakad/EB/etc!), she would always be, for me, the happiest and most involved (but never a Bridezilla ha) bride-to-be (and now, bride). Being in touch with her during her wedding preps (even up to the time that she’s in Manila na), up to the her last night as a bachelorette, until her wedding night (like just right after she took a shower-in preparation for her and Lui’s first night as husband and wife-naks! haha)–it was like getting married all over again. Grabe talaga to si Kendz sa preps nya. And when she texted me after her wedding, I knew instantly that it was a big big success.

Kendz will always be a perfect reminder for me of how magical weddings can be. Not just the wedding, but also the highs and lows of preparing for it. That no matter how big or small your wedding is, what matters most is how important this day is to you and the man waiting for you down the aisle. Everytime I see friends, or even strangers, getting married and as happy as Kendz was during her wedding, I will never get tired of all these getting-hitched-hoolahs. It is one of the most beautiful moments a person could have in his entire life. And I’m just so happy I got to have my own share of it, my own walk to remember, like what I always say.

I think there will never come a time that I won’t shed a tear or two whenever I watch a wedding ceremony. Even onsite vids, for that matter. Actually, even if I don’t know the couple, I still get kilig and teary eyed when the bride walks down the aisle and when the groom says his vows. In fact, I believe so much in the magic of weddings that even if I knew that the bride walking down that aisle was a bitch, I’d still feel kilig towards her and her groom.

A week or so after our wedding in 2006, Jun and I went to Manaoag to offer our prayers. Whenever I’m back Home, I would always go there to pray and make a wish, just like how my Papa taught us. During this particular visit, there was a wedding, a 50th wedding anniversary at that. And though the "grandma bride" can barely walk, and the "grandpa groom" had a complete set of ultra-white dentures, plus the fact that they really had an awful shade of yellow as their motif…well, the whole thing still made me kilig just the same. ..

Kendz and Lui, all the best to you both! And may you both love each other even after your own 50th wedding anniversary, where Kendz can barely walk and Lui has his own set of ultra-white dentures.

it's been more than a month since our wedding and i guess i have put off this blog as much as i can (i didnt mean to... siguro i just didnt want to let go yet hehe feeling kinakasal pa din)

anyway, this is our thank you list... i should have thanked all these people during the wedding but due to an unforeseen circumstance (thanks to threelogy hehehe) i wasnt able to deliver my speech hahaha :)

i have so many things that i want to blog about for the past few weeks but havent got the chance to do so...

1. our 3rd anniversary... yes we're cheesy that way. we still celebrate our anniversary (as boyfriend and girlfriend) just because we want to. hehe anyway, last march 24, we went to vivo city and had a grand time taking shots and pictures. :) (that's my ideal date hahahaha!) we also watched "Vantage Point" which for me is a good enough movie. I was practically at the edge of my seat for most of the movie. hehe. We topped the whole day with dinner at Hog's Breath... my verdict? the carbs were great hahaha... their mashed potato is out of this world!!! the fries that came with the fish was also awesome! :D ohhh the potato skins in the appetizer was great as well. yum yum yum... the steak itself was so-so - they recommeded medium-rare but we had it meduim-well hahaha maybe that's why it's a bit hard to chew. but tasty still. slurp. hehehe... (we never got to eat the fish and chips, we were full from the appetizer and steak alone)

2. maroon 5 concert - AWESOME!!!! ASTIG!!!! GRABEEEEEEE!!!! omg... that concert just re-confirmed my love for this band... they are totally awesome. okay... they are good in their album but believe me... you have to be there to REALLY get how talented they are! OMG the drummer just blew me away.... he was totally awesome... ang galing galing nya!!! and dont let me get started on the guitarist! grabe... anu ba yun.... amazing hands. amazing amazing amazing... and the keyboardist (is that what you call him?) is just so talented as well... he can play the keyboard AND the guitar AND the drums and did I mention he's cute?! hehehe... but i guess the hottest of them all is the singer... didnt know that someone in plain white shirt and skinny jeans can be so damn hot!!! hahahaha. (dont worry i told lui and he just laughs at me bwahahaha) i loved that concert. it just tops all of the concert i've ever watched!

3. i'm sooo not looking forward to something right now. i can just feel it... it just makes all my warning bells go off... it's about work and im sooo doomed.

4. for the past few months i've been thinking about going to another country to work. lui is so supportive. he says he'll go with me wherever i want to go. (diba sweet) but i still have a lot of decision-making and pro/con reviewing before making that big decision. but my feet is itching. i just dont know if i'll scratch it.

5. i love my nikon!!! skill needs more practice though. :D hehehe...

planning to give my old 350D to my sister as her bday gift (hehe cheapskate i know hahaha)

i decided to NOT buy the coach bag but to upgrade my cam instead. im more of a techie than a girly girly person hahaha... (maybe next time bwahahaha)

now im torn between canon 30D or 40D and nikon D80...canon coz i got some lenses that i can still use. sayang din naman. nikon coz i really think the picture quality (in terms of color is really better)

my first take on YOGA

after almost 2 months, i finally forced my lazy ass to go back to the gym - and what a comeback! :D i went for body jam and then went and tried my first ever yoga class...

the verdict? it was great! :) i left with all my muscles aching but i really feel good. (i have a principle: muscle aint aching = not effective workout hehe)

but... it was a really weird experience for me :) for one thing, half of the time, i can barely understand what the instructor was talking about... here are some examples:

case 1:
instructor: feel the energy coming from your feet
kendz thinking: i feel pain... does that equate to energy? hehehe

case 2:
instructor: imagine yourselves as trees
kendz thinking: errr... i feel more like a falling tree (timbreeee) hahaha i cant keep my balance!!!

case 3:
instructor: put your upper butt (was it butt or cheek? i really cant remember) on your lower butt
kendz thinking: huh?! upper and lower butt?! wtf! all the while i thought i only had one butt!!! lol

case 4:
instructor: (while the class is doing an inverted triangle/mountain - sorry still not familiar with the terms. haha basta the one where you're in all fours but your butt is sticking out and pointing to the sky hehe) if you do this right, you will be able to hold this position for 10 mins without feeling pain
kendz thinking: is he f*cking serious?! dont tell me we'll stay in this position for 10 mins!! and what the does he mean by no pain?! heller!!! i can hardly hold myself up! my hands are dying.. come back come back hahaha

case 5: (while doing the same position as case 4)
instructor: find your balance... feel the energy... now lift your left leg and now your right arm
kendz thinking: OMG... he might as well ask me to fly!!!

bwahahaha :D sorry for the sarcasm. but really i did enjoy the class. will i go back? definitely :D but i have to be careful on what classes i join... they might really ask me to fly the next time :D hahaha! but it'll sure be great if i'll be able to do this next time as well :D (thanks for the inspiration friend!)

post-wedding changes

now that im hitched, people keep asking me: "so, how's married life?"

my default answer will be: "same same. nothing changed really" hehe not much changes considering that we're still not living under the same roof. im in singapore and lui is still in davao. so technically, im just married in paper :)

i guess i'll know the REAL answer to that question in one week's time :) hee... :)

but one thing though... now that i'm married, i notice that when i get sick (like yesterday) the first thing people will ask/say "r you pregnant?"

NO... once and for all - im not pregnant! hahaha and not planning to get pregnant in the near future! :) it's just funny how people will automatically jump to that conclusion now that i'm married. sheesshh...
